Ruth Swissa founded her paramedical tattooing practice in 1998, specializing in restorative work for patients after surgery and trauma. Swissa Med Spa is the same studio, with an expanded menu of medical aesthetic services.
Philosophy
Every new patient begins with a consultation to discuss goals, medical history and treatment options. Treatments are documented in the chart, results are reviewed in person, and follow-up visits are part of every plan.
Timeline
1998
Ruth Swissa opens.
A paramedical tattooing practice in Calabasas — areola restoration, scar camouflage, corrective pigmentation.
2008
Permanent makeup wing.
Brows, lips and lash line — cosmetic tattooing alongside the paramedical practice.
2015
Beverly Hills satellite.
A second location opens for one day per week, by appointment.
2021
Swissa Med Spa.
Injectables, lasers and regenerative protocols added under the same roof, by clinicians trained in the paramedical studio.
2026
New website.
A redesigned site to reflect the breadth of services offered and the standards expected of a clinical practice.
